Marico Limited, one of India's leading Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) companies, has launched Parachute Advansed Protein Shampoo, marking a significant expansion into the hair cleansing category and strengthening the brand’s overall presence in the personal care segment. The new Protein Shampoo range emphasizes the proven goodness of coconut milk and natural ingredients, reinforcing the company's innovation-led growth strategy.

The launch deepens Parachute Advansed's strong hair equity by bringing its established coconut milk brand identity into a pure hair cleansing format.

Ashish Goupal, CEO - India Core Business, Marico Limited, stated that this launch represents Marico's most significant category extension in recent years. He noted that extending Parachute Advansed into shampoos is a strategic move to address the growing consumer preference for nature-forward solutions. Goupal added that the move strengthens the company’s position in the personal care segment, specifically citing the ₹10,000+ crore shampoo market, which is reportedly growing at 9-10% annually.

Vikram Karwal, Chief Marketing Officer - India, Marico Limited, highlighted the consumer shift toward natural, trusted brands. He explained that the launch was designed to resonate with consumers increasingly choosing products backed by nature, building upon the strength of a brand grounded in local consumer insight for Indian hair needs.

Product Differentiation and Market Strategy​

The new Parachute Advansed Protein Shampoo range is positioned with a differentiated proposition centered on preventing protein loss in hair. The lead variant combines coconut milk with aloe vera, while the rest of the portfolio includes curated natural powerhouse ingredients. These ingredients feature unique benefits, such as rosemary for hair fall defense, amla, shikakai, and almond.

The portfolio launches with eight variants across multiple pack sizes. To encourage widespread adoption, the range is supported by an accessible entry sachet at Re. 1. The available Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) include 80ml, 170ml, 340ml, 650ml, 1L, and 1.2L, catering to general trade, modern trade, and e-commerce platforms.

Marico views this entry into shampoos as a key pillar of its strategy to capture a greater share of the Indian consumer's total hair-care spend.
