India Can Become Reliable Global Supply Chain Base Amid Geopolitical Shifts, Says Devendra Fadnavis

India’s Democratic Framework Positions It as Stable Supply Chain Hub

Nagpur, March 7: Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday said that a democratic country like India can serve as a dependable base for global supply chains at a time when geopolitical tensions are reshaping trade routes and supply networks worldwide.

Speaking at the foundation stone laying ceremony of the XSIO (Logistics) Advanced Industrial Park in Nagpur, Fadnavis highlighted that global supply chains are undergoing significant changes due to geopolitical developments and increasing instances of supply chains being used as strategic tools.

He said that in such an environment, India’s democratic system and stability make it a reliable destination for global supply chain operations.

Manufacturing Sector Undergoing Major Transformation

Fadnavis noted that the manufacturing sector is witnessing a major transformation driven by technology and automation. According to him, innovation and advanced technologies are reshaping the industry.

“Advanced manufacturing is becoming the new mantra of this era. Manufacturing is moving to the next scale with precision, innovation, sustainability, and automation. AI based technologies are changing the manufacturing sector in a big way,” he said.

He added that these changes are redefining how industries operate and expanding opportunities for advanced industrial infrastructure.

Manufacturing Key to India’s Economic Growth

The Chief Minister emphasized that the manufacturing sector plays a crucial role in India’s economic development. He said India has already become the fourth largest economy in the world and is progressing toward becoming the third largest global economy.

According to him, strengthening the manufacturing ecosystem will remain essential for sustaining this economic momentum.

Industrial Parks to Attract Global Capital

Fadnavis also highlighted the importance of modern industrial infrastructure in attracting international investment.

Referring to the newly announced industrial park project, he said such developments demonstrate how plug and play facilities can help create efficient supply chains and draw global capital.

“The industrial park whose foundation stone was laid today is a very important example. Global capital will only go to such places where there will be plug and play facility, wherein supply chains will be created,” he said.

He added that these initiatives will also contribute to advancing the Viksit Bharat vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, aimed at strengthening India’s economic and industrial capabilities.
