L&T Secures Major Power Transmission Orders in India and Middle East

Larsen & Toubro has secured a batch of major engineering, procurement and construction orders for power transmission infrastructure projects across India and the Middle East, strengthening its presence in the electricity grid segment.

Orders in West Bengal to Strengthen Industrial Power Networks​

In India, the company’s Power Transmission and Distribution vertical has received an order for the design, supply and construction of two 220 kV Gas Insulated Substations in the Durgapur, Raniganj and Asansol industrial belt of West Bengal .

The scope of work includes associated transmission line segments featuring advanced conductors and multi circuit towers . These grid modernisation projects are aimed at ensuring a stable voltage profile and improving the reliability of power networks supporting infrastructure and industrial activities in the region .

Turnkey Substation and Transmission Projects in the Middle East​

In the Middle East, L&T has secured turnkey orders from key utilities for the construction of five substations and over 250 km of transmission lines . These projects are spread across three countries in the region and involve systems up to the 500 kV level .

One of the projects also includes the supply and installation of a 400 kV underground cable system , expanding the company’s execution footprint in high voltage transmission infrastructure.

Focus on Grid Modernisation and Energy Transition​

With rising electricity demand, evolving energy mix and security driven initiatives, grid investments are emerging as high priority areas for economies . The newly secured orders reflect continued customer confidence in L&T’s capabilities for safe, sustainable and timely execution of large scale grid backbone projects .

The orders are classified as major, which corresponds to a value range of ₹5,000 crore to ₹10,000 crore .

Share Price Movement​

Shares of Larsen & Toubro were trading at ₹4,308.80, up ₹49.60 or 1.16 percent as of 10:00:46 IST on February 25, 2026. The stock opened at ₹4,270.00 and touched a high of ₹4,322.30 and a low of ₹4,254.20 during the session.
