
Kalyani Strategic Systems and Paramount Unveil Simha 4x4, Next-Generation Modular Vehicle at Eurosatory 2026
Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited (KSSL), the wholly-owned defence subsidiary of Bharat Forge Limited, alongside Paramount, unveiled Simha 4x4, a next-generation Light Armoured Multi-Purpose Vehicle (LAV). The launch took place at Eurosatory 2026 in Paris, France.The Simha 4x4 is designed as an ab initio platform to meet the rapidly evolving mobility and protection requirements of armed forces globally, specifically targeting markets in India, Africa, and South Asia. The vehicle is a modularly capable platform suitable for both Urban Warfare and On and Off-Road Reconnaissance operations. Its design philosophy allows for easy upgrades, customizations, and modifications, helping users optimize their supply and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) lines by building upon proven aggregates.
Designed to be highly adaptable and mission-configurable from its inception, the Simha 4x4 addresses the critical need for a protected, mobile, multi-role vehicle capable of various missions including internal security, border protection, reconnaissance, special operations, command-and-control, troop transport, and force protection. The vehicle was developed utilizing advanced digital platforms while prioritizing rigorous product validation and testing in record time.
Amit Kalyani, Vice Chairman and Joint Managing Director of Bharat Forge Ltd., stated that the Simha 4x4 demonstrates the depth of engineering and defence expertise brought to the global stage. He noted that being Europeanized by Design and built around NATO qualified aggregates, it is engineered for rapid industrialisation in partner nations. Kalyani added that this versatile platform serves as a statement of intent that India's defence industry can meet the highest standards of protection and tactical mobility.
Eric Ichikowitz, Senior Vice President of Paramount, commented on the design philosophy, noting that defense forces worldwide are seeking highly adaptable platforms capable of performing multiple missions and integrating emerging technologies while being produced locally. He stressed that the Simha 4x4 combines affordability, modularity, mobility, and protection and represents a demonstration of what can be achieved when trusted defence companies combine expertise and strategic vision.
The vehicle is designed to support local industrialization and sovereign production objectives. The Simha 4x4 allows for rapid industrialization and localization within partner nations, thereby aiding national defense-industrial development strategies and reducing long-term reliance on foreign supply chains. This joint effort with Paramount expands the portfolio of defence solutions from the Paramount-KSSL partnership.
