JSW Steel Ltd. has marked a major milestone with the commencement ceremony for its fully-owned greenfield Integrated Steel Plant in Paradeep, Odisha. The project signifies one of the company's largest investments and underscores JSW Steel's long-term commitment to strengthening India's manufacturing sector and driving industrial growth in Odisha.

The ceremony was attended by the Hon'ble Chief Minister of Odisha, Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, senior members of the Government of Odisha, including the Ministers for Industries and Steel, and JSW leadership led by Mr. Sajjan Jindal, Chairman & Managing Director, JSW Group.

The Paradeep Integrated Steel Plant is set to be developed in phases and boasts a planned capacity of 13.2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA). The project involves an estimated investment of about ₹65,000 crore in phases and will span an area of nearly 2,950 acres. Its strategic coastal location provides strong port connectivity, efficient access to raw materials, and robust logistics infrastructure, catering to both domestic and international markets.

As India's steel demand continues to rise due to infrastructure development, urbanization, and manufacturing expansion, the facility is expected to play a crucial role in supporting the nation's industrial ambitions.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sajjan Jindal, Chairman & Managing Director, JSW Group, stated that the commencement of the Paradeep Integrated Steel Plant reaffirms JSW Steel's belief in India's long-term manufacturing potential. He noted that Odisha has emerged as a highly attractive industrial destination, supported by progressive policies and world-class infrastructure.

Mr. Jayant Acharya, Joint Managing Director & CEO, JSW Steel, highlighted that the plant will be a core pillar in the company's growth strategy. He added that its strategic coastal location and integrated infrastructure will significantly enhance operational efficiencies and strengthen JSW Steel's ability to serve customers globally.

Mr. Anil Singh, President, JSW Steel, expressed delight at the development of the landmark project at Paradeep, stating the company looks forward to collaborating with the Government of Odisha and local stakeholders to build a world-class facility that creates long-term value for the region and the nation.

The project further aligns with the Government of India's Mission Purvodaya, which aims to unlock the industrial potential of eastern India and accelerate inclusive economic development. Once fully developed, the facility will solidify Odisha's status as a leading steel and manufacturing hub in India.
