Jindal Stainless Units Win Multiple CII National Awards for Energy Efficiency and Low-Carbon Initiatives

Jindal Stainless Ltd., a leading stainless steel manufacturer in India, has secured multiple national awards recognizing its commitment to sustainable manufacturing and operational excellence. The company’s facilities in Hisar, Haryana, and Jajpur, Odisha, were recognized at the 10th CII National Energy Efficiency Circle Competition 2026, organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

The awards highlighted the sustained efforts across both units in energy conservation, decarbonization, and implementing advanced energy management practices. The recognition reinforces Jindal Stainless’ commitment to driving innovation while maintaining operational excellence in a climate-conscious industrial landscape.

Decarbonization and Efficiency Achievements

The Hisar unit received two prestigious national awards: National Award for Best Energy Efficient Case Study and the National Award for Best Case Study on Low Carbon/Carbon Neutral Initiative. The initiatives credited with this success include waste heat recovery systems, adopting heater-less vaporisers, renewable energy integration, efficient equipment upgrades, and green hydrogen applications.

The Jajpur unit was recognized under the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) PAT/CCTS Scheme and for the effective implementation of ISO 50001 Energy Management System. The initiatives at Jajpur included the installation of a Waste Heat Recovery Boiler (WHRB), implementing Melt Control System in the Electric Arc Furnace (EAF), optimizing the Reheating Furnace (RHF), streamlining the Chrome Palletisation Plant, and integrating renewable energy.

The cumulative impact of these efforts across both facilities demonstrates significant environmental progress:
