Insecticides (India) Launches GRANUVIA TM for Long-Term Paddy Pest Management

Insecticides (India) Limited (IIL) announced the launch of GRANUVIA TM, a new, next-generation insecticide designed to provide comprehensive and long-duration control against major pests affecting paddy cultivation in India. The product is positioned as a future-ready solution to address challenges related to brown plant hopper (BPH) and stem borer.

According to the company, the product is recommended for application at 30 to 35 days after transplanting, a critical phase when paddy crops are most vulnerable to pest infestation.

The company highlighted the severity of pest challenges in the sector. Historically, early and prolonged outbreaks of BPH have impacted millions of acres, with severe cases leading to yield losses ranging from 20% to 60%. Similarly, stem borer remains a major yield constraint, typically causing 10% to 30% crop damage.
