State Bank of India reports 10.23% YoY growth in Net Profit for Q1FY27​

State Bank of India (SBI) has reported strong financial results for the quarter ending June 30, 2026, showcasing solid growth across profitability and balance sheet expansion. The bank's overall business crossed ₹110 Trillion, while total deposits and advances surpassed ₹60 Trillion and ₹50 Trillion respectively.

The bank recorded a Net Profit of ₹21,121 crores for Q1FY27, marking a 10.23% growth year-over-year (YoY). Operating Profit saw an increase of 9.77% YoY, reaching ₹33,529 crores.

The Net Interest Income (NII) for the quarter rose by 14.88% YoY. Domestic NIM stood at 3.00% in Q1FY27, which improved by 7 basis points (bps) from Q4FY26. The Whole Bank NIM was reported at 2.86%, showing an improvement of 5 bps over the previous quarter.

Balance Sheet Growth and Advances​

The bank achieved significant growth in its advances portfolio. Overall bank advances grew by 18.63% YoY, while domestic advances increased by 18.15% YoY.

Advances across various segments demonstrated robust double-digit growth. RAM Advances grew at 18.20% YoY. Agri Advances saw a strong increase of 25.43% YoY, followed closely by SME Advances at 22.33% and Retail Personal Advances growing at 15.15%. Corporate Advances registered a YoY growth of 18.05%.

In terms of funding, the Whole Bank Deposits grew by 9.73% YoY. CASA (Current Account Savings Account) deposits increased by 9.30% YoY, leading to a CASA Ratio of 39.24% as of June 30, 2026. Retail Term Deposits recorded a YoY growth of 14.39%.

Asset Quality and Capital Adequacy​

The bank maintained strong asset quality metrics in Q1FY27. The Gross NPA Ratio stood at 1.47%, an improvement of 36 bps compared to the previous year. The Net NPA Ratio was 0.38%, showing a decline of 9 bps YoY.

Provision Coverage Ratio (PCR) stood at 74.20%, while PCR including unsecured advances (AUCA) reached 91.82%. The Slippage Ratio improved by 18 bps YoY, settling at 0.57% for Q1FY27, with the Credit Cost reported at 0.27%.

The bank maintained healthy capital strength, with the Capital to Risk Weighted Assets Ratio (CRAR) standing at 15.67% as of the end of Q1FY27.

Digital and Operational Updates​

In terms of digital adoption, over 64% of SB accounts were opened digitally through YONO in Q1FY27. The share of Alternate Channels in total transactions increased slightly from approximately 98.6% in Q1FY26 to around 98.8% in Q1FY27.
