Infosys Q1 Results Show Robust Growth and Leadership Transition​

Infosys announced highly positive consolidated Q1 results, reporting a 12.2% zoom in profit to Rs 7,769 crore from the previous Rs 6,921 crore. The company's revenue also saw a solid rise of 14%, reaching Rs 48,211 crore compared to Rs 42,279 crore last year.

The strong performance was reflected in an EBIT surge of 15.4%, hitting Rs 10,163 crore up from Rs 8,803 crore. Infosys expanded its EBIT margin to 21.1% from 20.8%. Furthermore, the company secured a large-deal total contract value totaling $3.6 billion, with 67% of that amount being net new business.

Infosys also announced a significant leadership appointment. Ashiss Kumar Dash has been appointed as Chief Executive Officer Designate until March 2027, with an effective date to become Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director on April 1, 2027.

Airlines and Tech Startups Deliver Mixed Quarter Results​

In contrast to the strength seen in the IT sector, InterGlobe Aviation reported a quarterly loss of Rs 238 crore, which is starkly different from its previous profit of Rs 2,176.3 crore. Despite this downturn, the company’s revenue grew by 19.9%, reaching Rs 24,584.1 crore against Rs 20,496.3 crore last year.

Meanwhile, Meesho successfully narrowed its losses in Q1, reducing them to Rs 132.8 crore from the previous loss of Rs 289.3 crore. The company's revenue simultaneously surged by 48.3% to Rs 3,712.8 crore, up from Rs 2,503.9 crore in the prior period.

Key Stock Movers and Corporate Developments​

Shadowfax Technologies is set for heightened focus due to expected block deals involving major entities like Eight Roads, Flipkart, and Korea's IMM India Fund. These investors are anticipated to sell shares worth over Rs 1,000 crore at a floor price of Rs 197 per share, according to broker details reviewed by Moneycontrol.

Coforge has made a significant strategic announcement with the launch of Coforge Nuuron. This new AI operating system (AI-OS) is specifically designed to assist enterprises in industrializing AI-driven outcomes beyond isolated initiatives across their businesses.

Bulk Deals and Major Institutional Activities​

In moves related to corporate activity, Abakkus Asset Manager's Abakkus Venture Opportunities Fund acquired 6,01,341 shares of Dhabriya Polywood, establishing a 5.55 percent stake at Rs 387.80 per share, amounting to Rs 23.32 crore.

Societe Generale also entered into a bulk deal for Gandhar Oil Refinery India, acquiring 6.84 lakh shares, representing a 0.7 percent stake. The purchase was made for Rs 19.22 crore at a price of Rs 280.93 per share.

Venture capital activity was noted in Oswal Pumps, where VQ FasterCap Fund sold 5.98 lakh shares, constituting a 0.52 percent stake at Rs 343.61 per share, amounting to Rs 20.54 crore.

Comprehensive Quarterly Earnings and Listings Update​

Beyond the highlighted stocks, numerous companies are reporting their quarterly earnings today, including NTPC, SBI Life Insurance Company, Shriram Finance, Tata Consumer Products, ACC, Bank of Baroda, and Jindal Steel among others. AU Small Finance Bank saw a dramatic turnaround in Q1, with profit soaring 113.1% to Rs 75.2 crore against Rs 35.3 crore previously.

Sona BLW Precision Forgings recorded strong results, reporting a 46.7% jump in profit to Rs 178.5 crore and revenue zoom of 52.4% to Rs 1,301.2 crore. Meanwhile, Cyient saw its profit fall 32.3% despite a 21.3% rise in revenue, reaching Rs 2,075.7 crore.

The market is also monitoring several listings and transaction dates. Caliber Mining & Logistics is set for mainboard listing. Stock trades are scheduled ex-dividend for Bharti Airtel and Hero MotoCorp, while there are ex-date announcements for India Radiators.
