The precision engineering giant, Indo-MIM, continued its robust run on the final day of bidding, with its Initial Public Offering (IPO) surpassing the four times subscription mark as reported by the National Stock Exchange. The strong demand highlights investor confidence in the company's specialized technology and future growth trajectory.

IPO Subscription Details Reveal Strong Investor Demand​

As of 10:09 am on July 27, Indo-MIM saw a total offering of 5,50,93,201 shares receive bids from 23,02,82,130 participants. This translates to an impressive subscription ratio of 4.18 times.

Investor categories showed varied levels of enthusiasm. The Non-Institutional Investors (NIIs) category registered the highest interest, achieving a 12.80 times subscription. Retail individual investors (RIIs), while still showing significant support, saw their segment subscribe at nearly 2.24 times.

Grey Market Premium Signals High Listing Expectations​

The company's shares are commanding a substantial grey market premium (GMP), indicating heightened anticipation among the market. GMP data from Investorgain and IPO Watch showed the premium to be Rs 190 per share on July 27, which represents a 39.18 percent premium over the upper end of the price band.

Based on this speculative indicator, the expected listing price for Indo-MIM shares is pegged at approximately Rs 675 per share. Investors are reminded, however, that grey market premiums are unofficial and based purely on market speculation, not guaranteed outcomes.

Anchor Book and Financial Health Under Spotlight​

A substantial commitment was secured during the anchor book phase, where the company raised Rs 1,141 crore through participation from 92 anchor investors. These include major domestic mutual funds such as ICICI Prudential AMC and HDFC MF, alongside global entities like Goldman Sachs and BlackRock Global Funds.

The offering allows for a fresh issue of Rs 500 crore and an Offer for Sale (OFS) amounting to Rs 3,311.21 crore by existing shareholders and promoters. The company plans to use Rs 400 crore from the net fresh proceeds to repay outstanding borrowings, which stood at Rs 1,212.3 crore as of May 2026.

Strong Financial Performance Drives Market Confidence​

Indo-MIM has demonstrated consistent financial strength in recent years. For the financial year ending March 2026, the company’s profit rose by 25.9 percent to Rs 533.5 crore. Revenue saw a parallel increase of 25.9 percent, reaching Rs 4,193 crore, while total income climbed 28.1 percent year-on-year to Rs 4,320.70 crore.

Frost & Sullivan reports the company as the world's largest manufacturer of precision engineering components using metal injection molding (MIM) technology. Indo-MIM holds a consistent global market share of 6.8 percent by revenue in calendar year 2025, a position it has maintained for the past six years.

Founded in 1996, Indo-MIM specializes in manufacturing precision engineering components using MIM technology. Its extensive product portfolio serves critical sectors including aerospace, automotive, medical, defence, and consumer goods. The firm provides comprehensive solutions that span from mold design and tooling to finishing and assembly.

Indo-MIM operates 15 manufacturing facilities across the globe: six in India, six in the US, two in the UK, and one in Mexico. The IPO is being managed by a syndicate of merchant bankers including HDFC Bank and ICICI Securities. The allotment is expected to be finalised on July 28, with listing tentatively scheduled for the NSE and BSE on July 30.
