This significant infrastructure upgrade involves covering 631 Route Kilometres (RKm) on the critical East Coast Railway network at an approved cost of ₹270 crore.

The specific railway sections slated for Kavach installation include Baghuapal-Budhapank, Haridaspur-Paradeep, Khurda Road (KUR)-Balangir, Naupada-Gunupur, Lanjigarh Road-Junagarh, and Bobbili-Salur.
