The corporate landscape is buzzing with robust results as numerous companies announced their first-quarter financial performance. Reliance Industries reported a substantial rise in gross revenue, which soared 24.5% to ₹3.4 lakh crore from ₹2.73 lakh crore, while profit grew 6.1% to ₹23,196 crore.

Jio Platforms also demonstrated significant expansion, reporting a 11.8% increase in revenue to ₹39,173 crore. EBITDA for the digital services unit jumped 15.1%, expanding its margin to 53.3%.

The banking sector showed varied strengths across major players. Punjab National Bank saw profit zoom by a colossal 213.6% to ₹5,253.3 crore against ₹1,675 crore, driven partly by a significant drop in tax expenses (66%). ICICI Bank reported a solid 15.9% increase in profit, reaching ₹14,804.5 crore.

Natural Products for the pharmaceutical sector are poised for explosive growth as NATCO Pharma receives tentative approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA). This approval is for Olaparib 100 mg and 150 mg tablets, bioequivalent to AstraZeneca’s Lynparza.

The market views this approval through a lucrative lens, with industry sales data estimating US revenue for these tablets at approximately $1.4 billion in the 12 months ending March 2026. Simultaneously, Oberoi Realty reported strong growth, with its revenue increasing 31.7% to ₹1,300.9 crore.

Other notable developments include a routine cGMP inspection by the USFDA at InvaGen Pharmaceuticals Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Cipla, which resulted in one inspectional observation in Form 483.

Performance Highlights: Banks and Consumer Focused Companies​

The competitive financial health of various banks was revealed in their Q1 standalone reports. Kotak Mahindra Bank saw a strong 25.6% profit zoom to ₹4,123 crore, while Axis Bank’s profit jumped 22.5% to ₹7,113.9 crore.

Poonawalla Fincorp demonstrated incredible momentum, with profits spiking by 391.5% reaching ₹307.7 crore from just ₹62.6 crore. RBL Bank reported a 27% rise in profit to ₹254 crore. Net interest income grew robustly across the board; for instance, ICICI Bank saw NII increase 12.7% to ₹24,384.4 crore.
