
Mumbai, January 14, 2026: IL&FS Transportation Networks Limited informed stock exchanges that it has received a demand notice for payment of an outstanding service tax liability amounting to ₹96.96 lakh. The notice, received on January 13, 2026, pertains to the financial year 2016–17 and includes penalty, while interest has been excluded from the demand amount.
The demand has been issued by the Assistant Commissioner, CGST and Central Excise, Division IV, Mumbai East. The company stated that the notice relates to alleged non-payment of service tax for the said period.
IL&FS Transportation said it is currently reviewing the demand notice and assessing the appropriate course of action. The company also clarified that the matter does not have any material impact on its financial position, operations, or other business activities at this stage.
The management indicated that further steps, if any, will be taken after completing an internal assessment of the demand and related aspects.
