Hero MotoCorp Commits Over Rs 3,200 Crore Investment in Andhra Pradesh with Global Parts Centre Foundation Stone Laying

Hero MotoCorp, a leading global manufacturer of motorcycles and scooters, has reinforced its commitment to sustainable growth and community empowerment by laying the foundation stone for its second Global Parts Centre (GPC) in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. This facility represents an investment exceeding Rs 750 crores and forms part of a cumulative roadmap involving over Rs 3,200 crores in investments across the state.

The new GPC is designed to be a strategic hub for both domestic and international spare parts operations, aiming to transform Tirupati into a world-class manufacturing and electric mobility center. This move strengthens Hero MotoCorp's global supply chain and supports India’s position within the automotive and EV ecosystem.

Manufacturing Scale and Employment Generation

The investment signifies an aggressive expansion of manufacturing capacity in Tirupati. With this facility, 100% of the company's electric vehicle portfolio is designed, engineered, and manufactured at the plant. The annual production capacity is expected to scale significantly, reaching between 1.2 and 1.5 million units, establishing Tirupati as a premier manufacturing hub for future mobility in India.

The expansion is also set to serve as an economic catalyst for the region, with an estimated generation of around 4,000 employment opportunities, aligning with state-level industrial visions.

Community Empowerment Initiatives

In partnership with the Government of Andhra Pradesh, Hero MotoCorp announced two significant community initiatives aimed at fostering future talent and promoting safety.

The 'Dr. Brijmohan Lall Munjal Heroes of Tomorrow Scholarship' program is designed to empower technical education students across 28 districts. This initiative will provide full tuition coverage for meritorious students pursuing engineering degrees at state IIITs.

Furthermore, in commitment to local welfare and sustainable mobility, the company will deploy VIDA electric scooters and offer specialized road safety training to women police personnel within the Tirupati district.

Executive Vision

Dr. Pawan Munjal, Executive Chairman of Hero MotoCorp, stated that the foundation stone ceremony for the GPC marked an important milestone reflecting confidence in India's future and Andhra Pradesh’s growth vision. He described the investment as a tribute to his father and the enduring belief that great institutions must be sculpted to lead the future.

The Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu, affirmed Hero MotoCorp's role as a valued partner in the state's transformation, noting that the company’s presence has generated thousands of jobs, enhanced skills, and contributed to economic growth across Rayalaseema. He expressed delight over the strengthened partnership and looked forward to building a future-ready industrial ecosystem with the company.

Hero MotoCorp continues its commitment to driving the transition toward electric mobility through VIDA, which is backed by strategic investments in EV manufacturers and alliances designed to support premium motorcycle development.
