Hawkins Cookers Ltd Reappoints Veteran Director, Appoints Former IAS Officer as Independent Directors​

Hawkins Cookers Limited has announced key updates regarding its board composition, confirming the re-appointment of Mr. Murli Aildas Teckchandani and appointing Ms. Vini Mahajan to serve as independent directors. Both appointments were formalized by members at the 66th Annual General Meeting held on July 29, 2026.

The company confirmed that both appointed individuals are not related to any existing Directors of the Company. The roles have been set for a five-year term concluding on July 31, 2031.

Reappointment of Mr. Murli Aildas Teckchandani​

Mr. Murli Aildas Teckchandani has been re-appointed as an Independent Director. His reappointment follows the recommendation of the Board of Directors and was approved by members at the Annual General Meeting, making him eligible for a second term serving from August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2031.

Mr. Teckchandani holds extensive experience within the organization. His career history includes working with Hawkins since 1983, where he held roles such as Vice President-Finance and Senior Vice President-Technical. He was elected Executive Director-Operations in 2001 and transferred to Executive Director-Finance and Administration effective June 1, 2010. Over his 30 years with the company, he managed Sales, Commercial, and Technical departments. Prior to joining Hawkins, he served as General Manager-Finance with Bright Brothers Limited.

Mr. Teckchandani is 78 years old. He holds a B.E. Degree in Electrical Engineering from the Regional Engineering College, Durgapur, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Administration from the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

Appointment of Ms. Vini Mahajan​

Ms. Vini Mahajan has been appointed as an Independent Director, also for the term spanning August 1, 2026, to July 31, 2031.

Ms. Mahajan is a retired Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 1987 batch and holds significant experience in both state and central government roles over her 37-year career. Her background includes serving as Secretary in the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, and she served as the first woman Chief Secretary of Punjab.

Her tenure with various governmental bodies includes:

• Serving as a Director and later a Joint Secretary to the Prime Minister of India (2005-2012).
• Holding roles in departments such as Housing & Urban Development, Revenue, Industries & Commerce, IT and Investment Promotion, Health and Finance.
• Earlier experience included serving as a Director in the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance (2004-05).

Ms. Mahajan is 61 years old. She holds a B.A. (Honours) in Economics from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University, and an MBA from IIM Calcutta.
