New Delhi, March 25 Omaxe Ltd, a real estate firm that is developing a cricket stadium in Dwarka, the national capital, announced on Wednesday that a key stand with over 1,500 seats will be named after Harmanpreet Kaur, the captain of the Indian women's cricket team.
In a regulatory filing, Omaxe stated, "The Harmanpreet Kaur Stand, also known as the Pink Stand, will be located in the North (Pavilion) Lower Bowl and will have a total of 1,500+ seats."
The stand will be part of a 30,000-seater stadium.
Omaxe is building this cricket stadium as part of its 50-acre integrated project, "The Omaxe State," with an investment of approximately Rs 2,500 crore.
The stadium is being developed in partnership with DDA (Delhi Development Authority).
"The Harmanpreet Kaur Stand will include a dedicated Pink Stand, a welcoming space designed especially for women and families. Omaxe aims to make stadiums more inclusive and encourage more women to enjoy live sports," the company said.
This concept was developed in consultation with Kaur, who also provided inputs to shape better athlete-centric facilities within the stadium, Omaxe said.
