Godrej Agrovet Inaugurates India's First Integrated Oil Palm Complex in Telangana
Godrej Agrovet Limited has inaugurated India's first Integrated Oil Palm Complex in Khammam, Telangana. This initiative brings together all stages of the oil palm value chain under one roof, supporting the company's expansion plans and contributing to the nation's edible oil security goals.The complex encompasses seed and genetics, a nursery, an R&D center, a mill, and a future state-of-the-art refinery. The cumulative investment planned for this entire operational complex amounts to INR 300 Crore.
The inauguration ceremony saw the presence of various government officials from Telangana, including Sri Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu Garu, Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister and Hon'ble Minister for Finance & Planning, Energy, Government of Telangana. Also present were Nadir Godrej, Chairperson, Godrej Industries Group; Burjis Godrej, Chairperson Designate, Godrej Agrovet; Sunil Kataria, MD & CEO, Godrej Agrovet; Sougata Niyogi, CEO -Oil Palm Business, Godrej Agrovet and Rakesh Swami, Group President, Corporate Affairs, Godrej Industries Group.
Commenting on the event, Sri Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu Garu stated that the complex is a landmark for Telangana's oil palm mission. He emphasized that the initiative strengthens national edible oil security, noting that bringing seed-to-refinery capability to Khammam reflects expertise in this sector and is expected to accelerate the state's mission and prosperity for local farmers.
Burjis Godrej, Chairperson Designate of Godrej Agrovet, highlighted the complex as more than an infrastructure investment but a contribution toward building a self-reliant edible oil economy. He noted that being India's first of its kind, the project sets a benchmark for sustainable integrated oil palm approaches.

Furthermore, the facility includes a Samadhan Centre, serving as a comprehensive resource and advisory point for oil palm farmers.
Sunil Kataria, MD & CEO of Godrej Agrovet, stated that the investment in early capabilities, rather than premature scaling, was central to the project’s design. He noted that having the entire oil palm value chain under one roof ensures greater control over quality and consistency, reinforcing confidence in Telangana's potential to lead India’s edible oil security journey.
The inauguration marks a significant milestone for Godrej Agrovet as it commits to working with various stakeholders to help position India on the global sustainable oil palm map.
