Godfrey Phillips India Limited (GPIL) reported its consolidated results for the first quarter of Fiscal Year 2027 (Q1 FY27). The company recorded a Gross Sales Value of Rs 5,676 Crores and achieved a Net Profit of Rs 198 Crores.

The company reported that profitability saw a 44% decline compared to the corresponding period last year, citing the steep tax increase implemented in Q4 of FY26 as a major factor impacting industry profitability. Management stated that despite these challenges, domestic cigarette sales volume declined by only 2% during the quarter, reflecting brand resilience and distribution network strength.

Mr. Sharad Aggarwal, Chief Executive Officer of Godfrey Phillips India Limited, stated that the company has adopted a balanced pricing strategy to manage consumer impact while continuing investment in brand enhancement, innovation, market execution, and operational efficiencies.

The management also highlighted the performance of unmanufactured tobacco exports, which stood at Rs 248 Crores during Q1 FY27, accounting for 7% of net sales revenue. The company remains focused on expanding this export segment through its crop development expertise and nurturing customer relationships.

  • Social Impact: Over 20,000 farmers have been supported by the company, and 440 community sheds were constructed to safeguard crops and livestock.

Diversified Business Portfolio​

GPIL operates in both Tobacco and Confectionery segments. The company’s portfolio includes lines like Originals Paan Flavour Candy, ULTIMA, BURST, CHASKAA, JAISALMER, and Marlony. GPIL also engages in the distribution/re-sale of sweet-packaged food products from Ferrero India Private Limited, a partnership that saw revenue growth exceeding 2X, increasing from Rs 22 crore in FY25 to Rs 51 crore in FY26.
