GHCL Limited, a leading chemical company in India, has announced its standalone financial results for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027 (Q1 FY27), which ended on June 30, 2026. The company reported increased net profit despite challenges associated with global market volatility and input costs.

The un-audited standalone financial performance highlights a rise in net profit, as well as an increase in EBITDA, against the previous year's corresponding quarter. Net Revenue saw a decrease of 3% compared to Q1 FY26.

Commenting on the results, Mr. R S Jalan, Managing Director of GHCL, stated that the Q1 FY27 performance demonstrated sustained resilience amidst a volatile global geopolitical backdrop. He noted that while the global soda ash landscape continues to experience volatility and shipping disruptions, underlying demand remains stable, yet surplus supplies persist. Improved margins were attributed to better realization and lower input costs during the period.

Mr. Jalan acknowledged that ongoing global conflict is likely to impact direct energy and raw material costs, which may moderate margins as the year progresses. He emphasized that the company has maintained focus on cost discipline and operational efficiency in a demanding environment.

Focusing on strategic development, GHCL Limited is advancing product portfolio diversification. The Bromine and Vacuum Salt projects are currently at advanced stages of commissioning and are scheduled to commence commercial operations in Q2 FY27. Furthermore, the greenfield soda ash project is underway.

The company maintains a positive long-term outlook for the soda ash industry, driven by domestic demand from traditional detergent and glass segments as well as the emerging renewable sector. GHCL stated that combining this domestic demand with strong operational discipline will help mitigate external macro uncertainties, reinforcing its commitment to delivering sustainable returns to stakeholders.

Shares of GHCL Limited slipped by 0.66% on Friday, closing at ₹437.15 after shedding ₹2.90 from the previous close. The equity traded a total of 141,425 shares during the session.
