Operational Updates and Strategic Initiatives

The company noted that revenue growth in Q1FY27 was seasonally softer, with the Clove business facing challenges due to floods in Madagascar, which affected raw material pricing. The situation has since normalized, supporting a more stable operating environment.

Gem Aromatics is strategically advancing several product verticals:

  • International Market Expansion: The company approved the incorporation of a Wholly Owned Subsidiary in Brazil to boost its distribution capabilities across Latin America for essential oils and specialty chemicals.
  • Krystal Ingredients Pvt. Ltd (Wholly Owned Subsidiary): Progress was reported on cooling agents, where customer audits were completed and initial orders secured for GEM Cool 03, GEM Cool 05, and GEM Cool 23. Revenue from this segment is anticipated starting in Q3FY27.
  • For Safranal, the process is progressing through customer approvals, with revenue contribution expected toward the end of Q2FY27.
  • Regarding Phenol Derivatives, trial production is scheduled for the end of Q2FY27, targeting commercial production and meaningful revenue generation from Q4FY27.

The company attributed margin pressure to both product mix issues and higher raw material costs, alongside increased operating expenses resulting from a newly commissioned facility.

Mr. Yash Vipul Parekh, MD & CEO, commented on the results, stating that while Q1FY27 saw YoY revenue growth in a seasonally softer quarter, the focus is shifting towards monetizing the expanded manufacturing platform at Dahej and scaling up newer product categories through Krystal Ingredients. He noted that innovation remains central to the long-term strategy, and the proposed Brazil subsidiary is expected to enhance Latin American distribution reach.
