Gayatri Rubbers and Chemicals Gains Traction in Indian Railways with Silicon Mobile Holder Launch

Gayatri Rubbers and Chemicals Limited has entered a growth segment within the Indian Railways supply chain by launching its Fire-Retardant/Silicon Rubber Mobile Holders. This expansion marks a notable shift in railway coach interiors, moving towards advanced, fire-retardant rubber solutions aimed at boosting passenger safety and product durability over traditional plastic fittings. The company has reportedly secured its initial pilot order for this specialized component.

The potential scope within the Indian Railways sector is significant. For instance, a standard Indian Railway coach accommodating 72 passengers requires 72 units of the component per bogey. By utilizing specialized rubber compounds instead of brittle plastic, the company offers a solution that meets stringent safety standards while providing superior longevity in the rigorous environment of long-distance rail travel.

Gayatri Rubbers and Chemicals Limited, incorporated in 2022 and headquartered in Faridabad, Haryana, specializes in manufacturing and trading high-quality rubber products. The company's product lines serve the railway, industrial, automobile, and architectural sectors. Key materials produced include EPDM rubber profiles, Neoprene rubber, Sponge rubber, and Automobile rubber profiles, which are vital for sealing and insulation applications.

Operational Capacity and Facilities

The company operates two key manufacturing facilities. Its primary plant in Faridabad has a capacity of 200MT and is currently running at 120MT, reflecting an approximate utilization rate of 60%. This facility produces specialized rubber components for four sectors: Industrial, Architectural, Automotive, and Railways.

A second plant is dedicated solely to producing two niche and specialized rubber products for Indian Railways: UIC Vestibules and Decoupling Rubber.

Management Insights on Rail Sector Growth

Mr. Shilp Chotai, Managing Director of GRCL, stated that securing the pilot order for fire-retardant/silicon-rubber mobile holders is a milestone moment for the company. He emphasized that this validates the company’s capability to capture markets previously serviced by lower-grade materials by offering superior, safety-compliant alternatives.

Chotai noted the volume potential, given that 72 units are required for every coach, suggesting that the company views this as the commencement of becoming a key supplier for India's rail modernization efforts.

The company's diversified product portfolio caters to sectors including automotive, railways, and the smart meter industry, with brands such as "GOYAL" and "Elements India" operating from its manufacturing facilities in Faridabad.

GRCL Stock Price Movement

Today, Gayatri Rubbers And Chemicals Limited shares rallied, closing at ₹376.05 after gaining 5.00% for the session. The stock settled on notable buying activity, recording a total traded volume of 250 shares.
