New Delhi, March 30: E-commerce major Flipkart on Monday announced the appointment of Smita Ojha as Vice President of Engineering and Amit Sharma as Vice President of Program Management, as part of its efforts to strengthen leadership across its technology and execution functions.The company said the appointments are focused on scaling its core technology infrastructure and creating long-term value.
Smita Ojha to Lead Central Platforms Group Within OneTech
Smita Ojha will head the Central Platforms Group within Flipkart’s OneTech organisation. She joins the company with over two decades of experience in engineering leadership.Prior to this role, Ojha served as Senior Vice President of Engineering at Mindtickle. In her new position, she will be responsible for driving platform-level innovation and strengthening the company’s technology backbone.
OneTech serves as Flipkart’s unified product and technology organisation, responsible for building and operating all digital experiences across the platform.
Amit Sharma to Head Technical Program Management for OneTech
Amit Sharma has been appointed to lead the Technical Program Management charter within OneTech. He brings more than 25 years of corporate experience to the role.Before joining Flipkart, Sharma worked as a Director at Amazon. He has also held leadership positions at Accenture and WNS, contributing to large-scale program execution and operational excellence.
Focus on Innovation and Scalable Capabilities
Commenting on the appointments, Balaji Thiagarajan, Chief Product and Technology Officer at Flipkart, said the company is prioritising leadership investments as it moves into its next phase of growth.He noted that the company is accelerating its AI-native evolution and emphasised the importance of strong leadership in technology and program management.
Thiagarajan added that both Ojha and Sharma bring complementary expertise in platform engineering and large-scale execution, which will support Flipkart’s innovation agenda and help build scalable, future-ready capabilities.
