
Flair Writing Industries Limited Receives Order Confirming Demand of Rs. 73.14 Crore
MUMBAI – Flair Writing Industries Limited announced today, March 27, 2026, that it received a final order from the Office of the Asst. Commissioner of CGST and C. Ex. Division-X Mumbai East. The order, issued under Section 74 of the CGST Act, 2017, confirms a demand against the company.The order stems from an initial show cause notice received on September 29, 2025, regarding the disallowance of Input Tax Credit (ITC) for the period April 2019 to March 2020. Initially, the disallowed ITC totaled Rs. 1,46,28,378 (including Rs. 73,14,189 in tax and Rs. 73,14,189 in penalty).
The final order confirms a demand for ITC amounting to Rs. 73,14,189, comprised of Rs. 13,54,399 in IGST, Rs. 29,79,895 in CGST, and Rs. 29,79,895 in SGST, along with interest on the taxes payable. A penalty of Rs. 73,14,189 has also been demanded.
Flair Writing Industries Limited intends to file an appeal challenging the order and will submit its reply/submissions before the relevant authorities. The company states that the order is not expected to have a material impact on its financial operations and that any financial impact will be limited to the liability specified in the order, subject to the outcome of the appeal.
