Shares of Diamond Power Infrastructure Ltd (DPIL) saw a notable rise, gaining 2% on June 24. The rally follows the announcement by Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani regarding a substantial new capex programme in the power sector. DPIL stock traded at ₹ 205.98 apiece, responding to the news of increased demand from the conglomerate.

##Adani Power Pledges India's Largest Private Sector Capex Programme

Gautam Adani confirmed that Adani Power is implementing "India’s largest ever private sector power capex programme," which totals over Rs 2 lakh crore. The company has set an ambitious target to reach a capacity of 45 GW within the next five years. This commitment underscores the group's aggressive strategy for expanding its footprint in the nation's energy landscape.

##Diamond Power Benefits from Strategic Vendor Positioning

DPIL, which is headquartered in Vadodara, Gujarat, is one of India’s established manufacturers of cables, conductors, and transmission equipment. As a top vendor to the Adani Group entities, DPIL stands to gain incremental orders from this massive expansion. The company has recently secured multiple major cable and transmission conductor contracts directly from Adani Group entities.

##Extensive Project Pipeline Across Energy Domains

Adani Group's energy division showcased an extensive order book during its AGM. Gautam Adani stated that the transmission order book at Adani Energy Solutions reached Rs 72,000 crore. Major projects secured include the Khavda–South Olpad HVDC line, positioning the group as a leading private sector player with proven HVDC capability.

##Global Renewable Projects and Nuclear Entry Confirmed

The Group's international focus extends to collaboration with Bhutan's Druk Green Power Corporation (DGPC). Adani Group will jointly develop 5,000 megawatts of hydro projects in Bhutan through this partnership. Furthermore, the entry into nuclear energy via Adani Atomic Energy represents a significant step towards securing India’s long-term clean power needs.

##Adani Gas and Logistics Milestone Reached

Beyond power transmission, Adani Total Gas has crossed the milestone of over 1.1 million piped natural gas home connections. The company is ramping up PNG projects to meet rising demand in light of the current geopolitical climate. In logistics, Adani ports are projected to handle over 500 million tonnes of cargo in financial year 2025-26, aiming for a benchmark of 1 billion tonnes by 2030.
