Deccan Gold Mines Shares Surge Over 13% as Altyn Tor Project Achieves Maiden Gold Doré Production Milestone

Deccan Gold Mines saw significant market enthusiasm on Thursday, with shares rallying over 13%. The stock traded at Rs 226.30 apiece on the BSE after the company announced a major operational milestone. This increase followed the successful production of its first gold doré from the Altyn Tor Gold Project in Kyrgyzstan.

The successful event has been described as a critical de-risking step for the project's future prospects. The achievement validates the viability of the upgraded processing circuit at the site. It establishes a strong foundation as Deccan Gold Mines moves toward full-scale commercial production.

Operational Milestone Validates Processing Circuit

The maiden gold doré was produced following the successful treatment of a batch of gravity circuit concentrate. This process utilized the project’s newly installed Intensive Leach System (ILS) during a proof-of-concept run.

Gold recovery from the pregnant leach solution was achieved using the Merrill-Crowe process before being smelted into the finished gold doré product. The initial objective was to evaluate the integrated process design and confirm key operating parameters under live field conditions.

Altyn Tor Project Details and Strategic Significance

Altyn Tor is situated in the Naryn region of central Kyrgyzstan. It falls within the Soltan Sary mineralisation zone, a vast area that extends over 300 km. This zone is part of the major Tien Shan Shear Zone, which hosts many world-class gold deposits.

The project's mineralization is hosted in various formations, including quartz and quartz-carbonate veins, as well as stockworks. The successful production confirms the ore’s metallurgical leachability. It proves that high gold recovery rates achieved in earlier laboratory settings can be replicated in a live production environment.

MD Commentary Boosts Investor Confidence

MD Hanuma Prasad Modali commented on the development, noting its profound impact on project risk. He stated that validating the complete processing flowsheet under live conditions significantly de-risks the project and provides strong confidence in its commercial potential.

The achievement is described as a defining transition for the company. Deccan Gold Mines is moving from being merely an explorer to becoming an active gold producer. The MD emphasized that this success results from years of technical planning and engineering execution.

Path Ahead: Scaling Up Production at Altyn Tor

The company plans to continue advancing the Altyn Tor Project toward full-scale commercial production immediately following this milestone. This push includes continued plant optimisation and resource expansion activities.

Deccan Gold Mines also plans crucial updates to the project’s mineral resource estimate. A revised Life-of-Mine plan is also being developed, which will further unlock the long-term potential of Altyn Tor.

Established in 2003, Deccan Gold Mines maintains a globally diversified portfolio of gold and critical mineral assets. The company's holdings span multiple international locations, including Spain, Mozambique, Finland, Tanzania, as well as properties in India.
