Datamatics Taps AFC and Mobile Ticketing Systems for Mumbai Metro Lines 2B and 9​

Datamatics Global Services Ltd., a global provider of Digital Technologies, Operations, and Experiences, has announced its role as the implementing partner for Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) and mobile ticketing systems for Mumbai Metro Lines 2B and 9.

The AFC system deployed by the company is designed to facilitate faster entry-exit processes and automated fare deduction. It is suitable for both common mobility cards and QR coded tickets. The inauguration of Phase 1 for both Lines 2B and 9 occurred on April 8, 2026, marking a significant development for the city's public transport infrastructure.

The association extends Datamatics' existing presence in the metro network, as the company has also implemented the AFC solution for Mumbai Metro Lines 2A and 7.
