Cressanda Railway Solutions Detects Impersonation Campaign Involving Unauthorized Domain and Email ID
Cressanda Railway Solutions Limited has identified a cyber fraud incident involving impersonation and the creation of unauthorized digital assets targeting the company. The fraudulent activity was discovered after an ex-employee, Mr. Devendra Jha, allegedly colluded with Mr. Kamlesh, head of the outsourced IT AMC vendor M/s Ocean IT Solutions.The perpetrators fraudulently registered the deceptive domain name www.cressandarailway.com and created the fictitious email ID info@cressandarailway.com. These assets are being deliberately used to impersonate Cressanda Railway Solutions Limited and misrepresent facts to key government clients, including Eastern Railway and a Government Department of Maharashtra.
The company confirmed that the fraudulent domain and email ID are entirely unauthorized and do not belong to Cressanda Railway Solutions Limited. The organization stated that any correspondence, invoices, representations, or commitments made from info@cressandarailway.com or the cressandarailway.com domain are fraudulent, non-binding, and are completely disowned by the Company.
Cressanda Railway Solutions Limited has initiated multiple corrective actions in response to the cyber fraud incident. Client alerts have been issued to Eastern Railway and relevant Maharashtra government departments, advising them to disregard any communication originating from the fraudulent domain.
In terms of operational security, the company immediately terminated all administrative and network access provided to M/s Ocean IT Solutions and Mr. Kamlesh. Furthermore, a comprehensive, independent cybersecurity audit of the official IT infrastructure has been initiated.
Regarding legal action, the company is filing a formal complaint with the Cyber Crime Cell against the perpetrators under the Information Technology Act, 2000, and Indian Penal Code. The organization is also initiating strict legal proceedings related to trademark infringement and corporate identity theft.
