Larsen & Toubro (L&T) showcased its strong position in heavy engineering as it announced that its Metals & Minerals (M&M) division has secured several mega orders. These orders were received from leading domestic public and private sector metals and mining companies. This successful pipeline reinforces L&T's leadership in providing end-to-end EPC solutions across the minerals and metals value chain.

Emcure Pharmaceuticals Ltd also marked a key advancement in its drug portfolio on Monday. The company confirmed that its co-marketed brand of semaglutide, Poviztra, will now be available for the treatment of fatty liver disease. This expansion adds significant therapeutic reach to the drug's applications.

Regulatory Scrutiny and Financial Stability Check​

Central Depository Services (India) Ltd (CDSL) faced regulatory scrutiny when SEBI imposed a penalty of Rs 1 crore on the depository. The fine was levied due to cybersecurity and operational lapses identified in connection with the malware attack that occurred in November 2022. Regulators stated that the depository failed to adequately secure critical systems despite heightened regulatory demands.

In corporate finance, Indian Overseas Bank (IOB) provided a robust projection for its foreign currency deposits. The managing director, Ajay Kumar Srivastava, stated that the bank is projected to mobilize $650 million in foreign currency denominated deposits by the end of September. To date, IOB has already raised $300 million through these efforts.
