New Terminal at Srinagar Airport to Handle 10 Million Passengers Annually​

New Delhi, February 24: The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs has approved the development of a civil enclave at Srinagar Airport, with an estimated project cost of Rs 1,677 crore.

The project will cover a total area of 73.18 acres, with the new terminal building set to be constructed over 71,500 square meters, according to an official release.

Capacity to Manage 2,900 Peak Hour Passengers​

Announcing the decision after the Cabinet meeting in the national capital, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed the approval of the project.

The upcoming terminal building will be designed to handle 2,900 passengers during peak hours. On an annual basis, the facility will have the capacity to manage 10 million passengers.

Boost to Employment and Investment​

The government stated that the development of the civil enclave is expected to generate employment opportunities and stimulate investment in the region.

With a substantial investment of Rs 1,677 crore and expanded passenger handling capacity, the Srinagar Airport civil enclave project marks a significant infrastructure development initiative aimed at strengthening aviation capacity.
