Ahmedabad, February 17: The Adani Group has unveiled one of the world’s largest integrated energy and compute investments, committing $100 billion to develop renewable-energy-powered, hyperscale AI-ready data centers by 2035. The move signals a decisive push to position India at the forefront of the global Intelligence Revolution.

Building a Sovereign Energy and Compute Platform

The initiative is designed as a long-term sovereign energy and compute platform, combining green power generation with large-scale artificial intelligence infrastructure. According to the Group, the investment will lay the foundation for India to emerge as a global leader in the next era of digital and technological transformation.

The $100 billion direct investment is expected to catalyze an additional $150 billion in related sectors by 2035. These include server manufacturing, advanced electrical infrastructure, sovereign cloud platforms, and other supporting industries. Together, the broader effort is projected to create a $250 billion AI infrastructure ecosystem in India over the next decade.

“The world is entering an Intelligence Revolution more profound than any previous Industrial Revolution,” said Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group. He added that nations that successfully balance energy and compute capabilities will define the coming decade, and asserted that India is uniquely positioned to lead.

Expanding the Five-Layer AI Stack

The roadmap builds on the Group’s existing presence in data centers and renewable energy. Gautam Adani said the company is expanding into a complete five-layer AI stack focused on technological sovereignty.

The plan extends the current 2 GW national data center capacity under AdaniConnex to a targeted 5 GW, positioning India as a central hub in the global AI economy.

Landmark Partnerships with Global Technology Leaders

A key pillar of the strategy involves partnerships with major technology companies. The Group has outlined plans with Google to establish the nation’s largest gigawatt-scale AI data center campus in Visakhapatnam, along with additional campuses in Noida. It is also collaborating with Microsoft across Hyderabad and Pune.

Discussions are ongoing with other major players seeking to set up large-scale AI campuses across India, further strengthening the Group’s role as a leading AI infrastructure partner.

In addition, the Group plans to deepen its data center partnership with Flipkart by developing a second AI data center designed to support next-generation digital commerce, high-performance computing, and large-scale AI workloads.

Integrated Renewable Power and Hyperscale AI Compute

The 5 GW deployment aims to create what the Group describes as the world’s largest integrated data center platform. The model integrates renewable power generation, transmission infrastructure, and hyperscale AI compute within a unified architecture.

This coordinated approach seeks to align energy production and digital infrastructure development at national scale, reinforcing India’s ambitions in advanced technology and clean energy.

With this long-term commitment, the Adani Group is positioning its integrated energy and AI infrastructure platform as one of the most ambitious national-scale initiatives globally. The Group has invited global technology companies, sovereign institutions, and innovation partners to collaborate in building India’s next-generation AI infrastructure ecosystem.
