Biocon Receives Health Canada Approval for Yesintek® Autoinjector Pen
Biocon Limited's subsidiary in Canada has secured Notice of Compliance (NOC) approval from Health Canada for Yesintek® (ustekinumab) Autoinjector Pen. This new approval provides Canadian patients with a critical treatment option, enhancing the availability of this specialized medication across various care settings.The approved forms include the Yesintek® Autoinjector Pen in two strengths: 45 mg/0.05 mL and 90 mg/mL. This development follows previous approvals granted by Health Canada in October 2025 for Yesintek®, which included the solution for subcutaneous injection (various forms) and Yesintek® I.V.
The availability of the new autoinjector format offers patients an alternative that is not currently provided by the originator product in Canada. This customizable treatment approach allows for greater flexibility depending on individual patient needs and care facility protocols.
Yesintek® is indicated for managing debilitating autoimmune conditions, including:
- Moderate to severe plaque psoriasis in adult and pediatric patients aged 6-17 years.
- Active psoriatic arthritis in adults.
- Moderately to severely active Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis in adults.
This regulatory achievement significantly strengthens Biocon’s portfolio of immunology products within Canada, reaffirming the company’s dedication to increasing patient access to affordable medicines globally.
