Bharat Tex and Première Vision Forge Strategic Alliance to Boost India's Textile Dominance in EU Market

The Bharat Tex Trade Federation (BTTF) and Première Vision SA have signed a Letter of Intent (LoI), forging a strategic partnership aimed at deepening the textile and apparel collaboration between India and the European Union. This collaboration is set to create crucial new opportunities for Indian manufacturers, exporters, and designers looking to expand their global footprint.

The initiative will enable international buyers and major fashion houses to engage more deeply with India's competitive and diverse textile ecosystem. The partnership commitment extends beyond trade, actively promoting innovation, sustainable practices, design excellence, trend intelligence, and robust global sourcing throughout the entire textile value chain.

Strengthening Bilateral Trade Through Global Collaboration

The LoI was formally signed by Ms Florence Rousson, CEO of Fashion Division at Première Vision SA, and Shri Naren Goenka, Chairman of BTTF. The signing took place in the presence of Union Minister of Textiles, Shri Giriraj Singh, during the inaugural session of Bharat Tex 2026.

This institutional milestone strengthens ties between India and France across the entire textile and apparel value chain. The partnership arrives at a strategic time following the successful conclusion of negotiations on the India-European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which is anticipated to significantly enhance market access for Indian exporters.

Union Minister of Textiles, Shri Giriraj Singh, highlighted that this partnership positions Bharat Tex as a genuinely global platform. He stated it will allow Indian MSMEs and first-time exporters to connect directly with leading European buyers, showcasing India's strengths as a reliable and sustainable sourcing destination.

Unlocking Opportunities for Indian Industry

The collaboration promises a critical platform access point for various stakeholders across the textile value chain in India. This includes manufacturers, MSMEs, emerging brands, designers, and technology providers. These entities will gain access to showcase their premium textiles, accessories, technical materials, and fashion innovations before influential international buyers and fashion houses.

Première Vision Paris is globally recognized as a premier platform for trend forecasting and design excellence, convening leaders from the global fashion industry twice yearly in Paris. The partnership ensures reciprocal participation between Bharat Tex and Première Vision, strengthening buyer-seller engagement and fostering crucial exchanges of design and trend intelligence.

Elevating India's Status in Global Textiles

Smt Neelam Shami Rao, Secretary at the Ministry of Textiles, emphasized that this collaboration reflects India’s evolving position within the global textile industry. She stated that partnering with Première Vision provides a structured way to connect Indian enterprises directly with international markets and emerging global trends.

This partnership advances the Prime Minister's 5F Vision by reinforcing India's role as a key innovation and sourcing partner in the worldwide textile and apparel sector. The signing ceremony, which was witnessed by industry leaders, buyers, and sourcing consultants, underscored the shared commitment to mutual growth.

Bharat Tex 2026 is scheduled to take place from 14-17 July 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
