Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) has confirmed that a material litigation, which was previously disclosed in its offer documents, has been closed following the disposal of a writ petition by the Hon'ble High Court of Jharkhand at Ranchi.
The litigation pertained to a writ petition filed by Mahendra Singh ('Petitioner') against the State of Jharkhand and BCCL among other parties. The petition was submitted before the Hon'ble High Court of Jharkhand at Ranchi under Article 226 of the Constitution of India. It sought directions from concerned authorities regarding the arrest of accused persons in connection with a case dated July 13, 1989.
BCCL was involved in the writ petition as certain accused individuals were former employees of the company.
The Company received notification that the Hon'ble High Court of Jharkhand at Ranchi disposed of W.P. (Cr.) No. 652 of 2022 on June 30, 2026. BCCL noted that no adverse direction was passed against the organization in the court order.
With this disposal of the writ petition, the litigation originally disclosed in the offer documents stands closed.
