
Bank of India Confirms Three-Year Extension of MD & CEO Term
The Central Government has extended the tenure of Shri Rajneesh Karnatak, the Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer of Bank of India. The extension was confirmed via a notification dated April 23, 2026.The government utilized the powers granted under clause (a) of sub-section (3) of section 9 of The Banking Companies (Acquisition and Transfer of Undertakings) Act, 1970, to approve the change.
The notification stipulates that the term of office for Shri Rajneesh Karnatak is extended for a period of three years beyond his currently notified term. His existing term was set to conclude on April 28, 2026, and the new extension remains valid until further order, whichever is earlier.
