Suzlon Group has announced the appointment of Mr. Ashok Ramachandran as the new President, India Business, and Senior Managerial Personnel, effective June 4, 2026. The strategic appointment aims to bolster Suzlon's growth and execution capabilities as the company accelerates its transition into a full-stack renewable energy provider. Mr. Ramachandran will report directly to Ajay Kapur, Chief Executive Officer, Suzlon Group.Ashok Ramachandran brings over two decades of global leadership experience spanning energy, industrial products, and vertical mobility across India, Southeast Asia, and Australia. He is recognized for his ability to drive execution-led transformation at scale within complex, high-growth industries.
His professional background includes key roles at major industry players. As Chief Operating Officer and board member at JSW, he played a pivotal role in shaping the company's long-term growth strategy, helping accelerate its capacity journey from nearly 5 GW to 30 GW in less than three years. Previously, Mr. Ramachandran spent a majority of his career with Schindler Group. During his tenure as CEO & President - Schindler India & South Asia, he successfully led the company’s largest and most strategic markets across Manufacturing, Operations, and R&D, scaling revenues three-fold from INR 1,000 crore to INR 3,000 crore.
Industry leaders highlighted the significance of this move amidst India’s rapidly expanding renewable sector. Girish Tanti, Vice Chairman, Suzlon Group, noted that India is on an accelerated growth pathway for wind energy, having achieved a record 6.5 GW of installations last year. He stated that the potential remains significantly large, with India having the capacity to scale to 13-15 GW in annual installations.
Ajay Kapur, Chief Executive Officer, Suzlon Group, expressed confidence in the leadership.
