Ashok Leyland reported a record first quarter for the fiscal year 2027, achieving its highest ever Commercial Vehicles volume and top-line revenue. The company's standalone results show strong operational performance across key domestic and international segments.

The Indian flagship of the Hinduja Group, Ashok Leyland, announced its unaudited financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. In Q1 FY27, the company recorded a record revenue of Rs 9,634 Crores, up from Rs 8,725 Crores in the previous year. The firm also posted its highest ever Q1 Profit After Tax (PAT) at Rs 609 Crores, compared to Rs 594 Crores in the preceding year.

Operational success was driven by a significant increase in demand. Commercial Vehicles volume reached an all-time high of 48,763 units, marking a strong rise from 44,238 units in the same period last year. The company's Market Heavy Commercial Vehicle (MHCV) truck volumes saw a 15% growth, and Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) domestic Q1 volume grew by 21%. International performance was also robust, with exports totaling 2,461 units.

The financial health of the company improved, as net cash at the end of Q1 FY27 stood at Rs 2,252 Crores, reflecting a positive swing of Rs 1,432 Crores on a year-over-year basis. The Power Solutions, Aftermarket, and Defence businesses also contributed significantly to the strong financial performance during the quarter.

Consolidated results also reflected robust performance, with revenue from operations reaching 13,069.59 Crores and profit for the period I year standing at 667.77 Crores. The company's segment reporting indicates that it is principally engaged in the Commercial Vehicle and Financial Services business.

Mr Shenu Agarwal, Managing Director & CEO of Ashok Leyland, stated that the Indian CV industry remained buoyant despite geopolitical headwinds. He highlighted that while rising material costs continue to be a concern, the company is focused on premiumization, rigorous cost-saving efforts, and improving product mix to maintain operational discipline.
