AI Revolutionizes Tribal Education: NESTS Partners with CoGrad to Transform Learning in 499 Residential Schools

The National Education Society for Tribal Students (NESTS), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, has initiated a significant leap forward in educational technology. NESTS signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CoGrad (Supervision Educare Private Limited), a specialized education technology organization. This groundbreaking partnership aims to integrate artificial intelligence into academic support systems for tribal students across India.

The MoU was formally sealed in the presence of Ministry officials, including Smt. Ranjana Chopra and Shri B.N. Prasad, underscoring the governmental commitment to digital transformation in education. By uniting institutional oversight with advanced EdTech capabilities, the collaboration is set to radically enhance learning outcomes for vulnerable student populations nationwide.

Scaling AI Support Across Tribal Residential Schools

The partnership between NESTS and CoGrad has massive potential reach. It will support more than 9,000 teachers operating across 499 Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRSs) that are currently active throughout the country. This initiative is expected to eventually benefit over 1.5 lakh students, marking a major institutional effort toward inclusive education.

As part of this commitment, CoGrad will provide free access for two years to "Medha AI." This customized digital platform, developed by CoGrad, is specifically designed for educators. Beyond providing the technology, CoGrad is committed to extensive capacity building. The organization will conduct structured orientation programs and hands-on training sessions for EMRS teachers, principals, and academic administrators.

Empowering Educators with Medha AI Capabilities

Medha AI represents a comprehensive suite of tools focused on modernizing classroom instruction. This proprietary platform offers several high-impact features to faculty members. These include the creation of automated quizzes and assessments as well as specialized support for lesson planning.

The technology also facilitates highly creative educational methods. Teachers can utilize Medha AI to generate teaching-learning materials and create 3D models, promoting vibrant and innovative pedagogical approaches within their classrooms. This focus on teacher empowerment is key to ensuring sustained impact across the EMRS network.

Aligning Education with National Vision

This strategic partnership aligns directly with the aims of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. It also supports the broader vision of Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for a technology-enabled and inclusive Viksit Bharat. By leveraging cutting-edge AI, the initiative seeks to significantly strengthen the digital capabilities of the EMRS ecosystem.

The collaboration promises personalized academic support, ensuring that tribal students benefit from advanced, modern educational resources. This focused investment in technological integration is designed to substantially enhance overall educational outcomes for all participating institutions.
