Aastha Spintex Eyes 1:1 Bonus Issue as Textile Firm Navigates Post-IPO Price Plunge

Textile player Aastha Spintex, which debuted in the market this month, announced today that its board of directors is set to review a potential 1:1 bonus issue and determine a final dividend for FY26. The announcement comes just over a month after the company’s successful listing.

In an exchange filing, the company stated that the board meeting scheduled for Thursday will consider declaring a final dividend up to Rs 10 per equity share. Aastha Spintex indicated that this move is intended to return a portion of its success directly to shareholders from the reserved and surplus fund. Investors are keenly awaiting clarity on both the bonus issue and the dividend announcement.

Strategic Expansion and Integrated Textile Vision

Beyond shareholder returns, Aastha Spintex revealed plans for significant strategic expansion during the board meeting. The company is deliberating a proposal to introduce forward-integrated textile products under its proprietary in-house brand. This includes grey fabric and various other value-added fabric products.

This proposed expansion is described as a natural extension of Aastha’s existing integrated textile strategy, rather than a new diversification effort. It aims to strengthen the company's position across the entire textile value chain in Gujarat. The initiative leverages enhanced cotton yarn manufacturing capacity of 17,457 MT per annum following the Falcon acquisition.

IPO Context and Current Stock Performance

The current market performance contrasts sharply with the IPO’s successful launch profile. Aastha Spintex listed on July 6 against its issue price of Rs 136, eventually trading at a discount exceeding 4%. The initial public offering (IPO) was raised through an issue size of Rs 170 crore, open from June 29 to July 1.

The IPO witnessed strong institutional interest; the NII portion saw the highest draw with a subscription rate of 7.62 times. QIBs subscribed 3.30 times, while the retail quota recorded 2.33 times subscription.

Stock Plunge and Company Fundamentals

Following its listing, Aastha Spintex shares experienced considerable volatility. The stock plummeted further post-listing, hitting a record low of Rs 105.33 on the day it was reported. It closed at Rs 107.55, reflecting a fall of more than 7% in the trading session.

The company's stock is currently down over 22% from its IPO price and maintains a market capitalisation of Rs 472 crore. Founded in Gujarat, Aastha Spintex operates an integrated spinning facility in Halvad. The company produces vital products like carded, combed, and compact cotton yarn for various industries, including weaving and garment manufacturing both domestically and overseas.
