Vindhya Telelinks Limited (VTL), a company of the MP Birla Group, announced its financial results for the first quarter of FY 2026-27. The company reported strong operational performance in its Cable business, driven by robust demand for optical fibre cable solutions and sustained investments in digital infrastructure. For the quarter ended June 30, 2026, VTL registered a net profit of ₹2,809.97 lakhs, marking a growth of 34.5% compared to the net profit of ₹2,089.91 lakhs reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
The results demonstrate the resilience of VTL’s diversified business model despite facing temporary execution headwinds in some government-funded EPC projects.
Segment Performance Highlights
Cable Business GrowthVTL's Cable segment showed continuous operational improvement, reporting an EBITDA of ₹4,286.09 lakhs for Q1 FY2026-27. This figure is significantly higher compared to the ₹1,592.45 lakhs reported in the corresponding quarter of the prior year. The strength of this performance is attributed to a richer product mix and an increasing contribution from Optical Fibre Cables.
The global industry is entering a structural multi-year investment cycle fueled by rising demand across hyperscale data centres, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fibre-to-the-home (FTTH), 5G densification, and accelerating digital infrastructure investments. VTL is positioned to capitalize on these opportunities through ongoing expansion in advanced manufacturing of high fibre-count optical fibre cables and specialty products.
EPC Segment Operations
In the EPC segment, revenue stood at ₹51,706.64 lakhs during Q1 FY2026-27, down from ₹70,409.26 lakhs in the prior year's quarter. The EBITDA for this segment was reported at ₹4,362.38 lakhs, compared to ₹4,844.67 lakhs in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
Project execution in the EPC division has been impacted by delays in the release of government funds under critical infrastructure programs. Specifically, outstanding receivables related to the Uttar Pradesh Jal Jeevan Mission (UP-JJM) amounted to ₹733 crore as on June 30, 2026. The company noted that while the Union Budget 2026 allocated ₹67,670 crore to the Jal Jeevan Mission, fund disbursements during the quarter were moderated due to delays in budget allocations and the rollout of revised payment mechanisms.

Lodha, Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer, stated that VTL remains optimistic about long-term growth, supported by sustained investments across digital connectivity, power distribution, renewable energy, and smart infrastructure.
As of June 30, 2026, the company’s order book stands at approximately ₹4,850 crore (excluding O&M orders). Mr. Lodha also mentioned that the proposed amalgamation with Birla Cable Limited is expected to further strengthen VTL's competitive position, subject to regulatory approvals.
