Mumbai, August 01, 2026: The Board of Directors of Utkarsh Small Finance Bank Limited approved the Unaudited Financial Results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. The results indicate a significant operational recovery and transformation journey for the bank, marked by improved asset quality metrics and sharpened focus on securing lending portfolios.

The bank saw robust growth in disbursements, with overall disbursement growing by 48.5% year over year (YoY) in Q1 FY27. This was driven by Non-JLG disbursements rising substantially at 92.9% YoY, while JLG Disbursements grew by 4.5% YoY.

The Gross Loan Portfolio expanded by 2.0% YoY to ₹19,610 crore. A major strategic pivot towards risk mitigation is reflected in the increase of secured lending's share, which rose from 45% as of June 30, 2025, to 51% as of June 30, 2026.

Financial and Operational Highlights

The quarter saw notable improvements in cost efficiency and asset quality:
  • Net Loss: The net loss for Q1 FY27 was ₹34 crore, representing an 86% reduction from the net loss of ₹239 crore reported in Q1 FY26.
  • Asset Quality: Gross Non-Performing Assets 1 (GNPA 1) improved by approximately 550 basis points (bps) YoY to 5.9%. Credit cost also saw a significant improvement, declining by about 620 bps YoY to 2.3% in Q1 FY27.

Deposits and Balance Sheet Strengthening

On the liability side, Utkarsh Small Finance Bank reported strong growth in deposits. Overall Deposits grew by 2.6% YoY and 1.8% Quarter over Quarter (QoQ), reaching ₹22,054 crore as of June 30, 2026.

Approximately 60% of the microfinance portfolio was covered during the quarter, with expected inclusion leading to a forecasted 80% coverage upon including Q1 FY27 disbursements.

Risk Management and Profitability Update

A senior official speaking on the results noted that strategic actions were translating into tangible improvements across business momentum and asset quality. Asset quality trends continued improving, evidenced by the reduction of fresh NPA slippages (net of recoveries and upgradations) to approximately ₹125 crore from ₹400 crore in Q1 FY26.

The bank's capital adequacy remained robust, with a Capital Adequacy Ratio (CRAR) standing at 17.4%, comfortably exceeding the regulatory threshold of 15%. Tier 1 capital stood at 15.1% as of June 30, 2026.
