UltraTech Cement Limited, an Aditya Birla Group company, announced robust financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. The performance reflects broad-based growth across revenues and profitability, reinforcing the company's market leadership through disciplined execution and expanding capacity.

The consolidated net sales for the quarter reached Rs. 24,465 crores, marking a 16% increase compared to the previous year’s corresponding period of Rs. 21,040 crores. Profit before interest, depreciation, and tax (PBIDT) stood at Rs. 5,146 crores, up from Rs. 4,591 crores in the prior quarter. Furthermore, profit after tax increased to Rs. 2,604 crores, compared with Rs. 2,221 crores in the previous year.

The company attributes this strong performance to its ability to deliver profitable growth at scale, supported by operating efficiencies and the integration of acquired assets. The swift turnaround of The India Cements Limited is noted, where disciplined market execution has translated into gains; this was evident as India Cements recorded a normalized PAT of Rs. 52 crores in Q1 FY27, reversing a net loss of Rs. 183 crores seen in Q1 FY25.

Operational and Manufacturing Highlights​

UltraTech delivered excellent operating performance during the quarter, strengthening its pan-India manufacturing and distribution platform. Domestic sales volumes reached 39.2 million tonnes, representing a 13.1% growth over the corresponding period of the previous year.

In terms of production capacity in India, utilization stood at 81%, against an installed capacity of 200.1 Million Tonnes Per Annum (MTPA), driven by sustained demand across housing, infrastructure, and commercial construction segments. Operating EBITDA per tonne improved to Rs. 1,214, up from Rs. 1,198/mt in the same quarter of the previous year, underscoring the company’s focus on cost discipline.

UltraTech's manufacturing platform continues to expand. Following a significant milestone achieved in April 2026, the company surpassed 200.1 MTPA domestic grey cement capacity and 205.5 MTPA global capacity, including its international footprint. This expansion program includes greenfield projects, brownfield expansions, and debottlenecking opportunities to enhance market reach and logistics efficiency.

Sustainability Initiatives​

Sustainability remains a core part of UltraTech’s strategy. The company advanced its decarbonization agenda across areas such as green power, energy efficiency, and circularity during Q1 FY27.

In furtherance of its commitment to sustainable operations, UltraTech commissioned 20 MW of Waste Heat Recovery System (WHRS) capacity during the quarter. This increases the company’s total installed WHRS capacity to 434 MW. Coupled with renewable energy at 1.4 GW, the company achieved a green power mix of 47% by the end of the quarter. UltraTech was also recognized as an S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook 2026 Member for the Construction Materials Sector.
