Trump Declares Iran's Military 'Totally Gone'; Signals 'Everything' Demanded in Talks

US-Iran Tensions Flare as Trump Asserts Degradation of Iranian Defenses

Washington, D.C. - Former US President Donald Trump made stark claims regarding Iran's military capacity, asserting that Tehran has "no cards" left on the table. Speaking in an interview to Fox News, Trump detailed his assessment of the strategic balance between the two nations.

Trump repeatedly highlighted the past anti-US rhetoric emanating from Iran. He noted, "For years, I’ve had to listen to them say, death to America, right? They say, death to America, death to Israel… we will destroy America."

The former President questioned the international community's response to such declarations. He remarked, "Now, does anybody ever complain to you when they say that? I think that’s a big step worse. Death to America."

Asserting US Military Dominance and Iranian Losses

Trump framed recent US actions as having fundamentally shifted the strategic landscape. He asserted that the opposition’s military capabilities were significantly diminished.

"When I talk about civilisation, it’ll be much different because their military will be totally gone," Trump stated, adding that Iran’s armed forces were "pretty much gone now."

He pointed to the financial strain on Iran, claiming Tehran had depleted its resources on military hardware. "They spent all their money on weapons. We’ve destroyed most of those weapons," he declared.

Further detailing the alleged losses, Trump claimed that 158 of Iran's ships were submerged. He specifically mentioned the destruction of a vessel named Soleimani, stating it was "taken out by one of our Tiger Sharks, by one of our rapidly moving submarines."

Highlighting Negotiating Power and Future Outcome

Trump linked his assertive rhetoric directly to bringing Iran to the negotiating table. He suggested these statements were instrumental in initiating talks.

"That statement got them to the bargaining table and they haven’t left," he predicted, expecting a highly favorable outcome for Washington. He underlined his maximalist negotiating stance.

"I told my people I want everything. I don’t want 90 per cent. I don’t want 95 per cent. I told them I want everything," he emphasized.

Concluding his assessment of Iran's position, Trump stated, "They have no cards… Their Navy is gone. Their Air Force is gone. Totally gone. They have nothing."

Trump Contrasts US Strength with Political and Media Narratives

Beyond geopolitical matters, Trump used the platform to showcase purported strengths of the US military and political environment. He noted the military's high level of public approval.

"Our military is so good," he said, citing a 94 per cent approval rating for the armed forces.

He drew a stark contrast with other institutions, citing a 14 per cent approval rating for Congress and 12 per cent for the media. Trump also commented on the perceived decline in media credibility since his presidency.

These comments come amidst continued high tensions between the United States and Iran, suggesting a hardline diplomatic posture aiming for maximal concessions from Tehran.
