Symphony Ltd. Invests AUD 25 Million in Australian Subsidiary

Symphony Ltd. announced an investment of AUD 25 million (approximately ₹165 crores) in its wholly owned subsidiary, Climate Holdings Pty Limited (CHPL), Australia, on March 27, 2026. The investment will be used to reduce debt and optimize the company’s financial structure within its Australian operations.

The equity infusion is fully funded through Symphony Ltd.’s surplus treasury. The funds will primarily be allocated to prepay AUD 20 million (approximately ₹132 crores) of an outstanding acquisition loan at CHPL and AUD 5 million (approximately ₹33 crores) towards the working capital borrowings of Climate Technologies Pty Ltd (CTPL), an operating subsidiary of CHPL.

Treasury Optimization and Debt Rationalization

Symphony Ltd. attributes the availability of funds to optimal returns on its treasury investments, supported by Reserve Bank of India monetary policy. With declining forward yields, the company is redeploying proceeds to prepay higher-cost debt at its Australian subsidiaries. This strategy comes ahead of recent cumulative 50 basis point policy rate hikes by the Reserve Bank of Australia in 2026.

CHPL was incorporated in June 2018 to facilitate the acquisition of CTPL and its U.S. subsidiary, Bonaire USA LLC. Symphony Ltd. has undertaken a transformation of its Australian operations, transitioning to an asset-light model and expanding its product offerings. The divestment process was rolled back in January 2026.

Following the business transformation, the equity investment is intended to lower debt levels at the Australian operations. The prepayment of the acquisition-related borrowings will make CHPL completely debt-free, while the partial prepayment of working capital borrowings will reduce CTPL’s borrowings to approximately AUD 14 million (approximately ₹92 crores). Symphony Ltd. remains committed to further reducing residual working capital borrowings at CTPL.
