GST Order Revision for CEAT Limited: Confirmed Demand Reduced After Review​

CEAT Limited has reported a revision in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) demand related to the Financial Year 2019-20, following an order passed by the State Tax Officer, Group-VIII, Intelligence-II Chennai-6, Tamil Nadu. The rectified order substantially reduced the previously quantified tax and penalty amounts.

The communication, received by authorized officers on June 3, 2026, pertains to GST demand arising from the alleged availment and utilisation of ineligible input tax credit. This development is a revision of earlier intimation regarding this matter made on March 30, 2026.

As per the rectified order (DRC- 08) issued by the authority, the confirmed financial obligations have been adjusted. Initially, the demand involved Tax amounting to Rs 4.7 Crore and a penalty of Rs 4.7 crore, in addition to applicable interest. The revised order has reduced this burden significantly.
