
Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd (SWREL) announced a significant boost to its pipeline, declaring it has secured new orders worth ₹ 3,550 crore. The massive influx of contracts is fueled by a key tender win from Coal India, marking a major milestone for the renewable energy developer.
The company revealed that it was declared the lowest bidder in a critical tender issued by Coal India. This package involves the development of an 875 MW (AC) grid-connected solar PV project located in Bikaner, Rajasthan.
The total value of this comprehensive contract, which includes Operation and Maintenance (O&M) and taxes, stands at ₹ 3,490 crore. This substantial win firmly anchors the company's standing in India's evolving energy landscape.
Major Wins Drive Record FY26 Order Inflow
Beyond the flagship Coal India contract, SWREL also secured an additional order. This recent deal involves developing a 50 MW AC project in Maharashtra from a leading Indian Private IPP.Combined, these new contracts elevate the total value of the company's EPC order inflow for the fiscal year 2026 to exceed ₹ 10,062 crore. This metric significantly surpasses the company's initial targets set for the year.
Chandra Kishore Thakur, Global CEO of the Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Group, expressed his delight with the achievement. He noted the excitement of partnering with Coal India on their renewable energy growth trajectory. The CEO stated that achieving over ₹ 10,000 crore in EPC order inflows positions the company strongly for a successful end to FY26.
