This affordable financing option is designed to minimize the immediate financial burden on flood-affected individuals and small traders.Borrowers will be given a long tenure of 60 months for repayment under the scheme. To ensure maximum ease and speed in accessing relief funds, Varachha Bank has established a dedicated help desk at its Head Office. This facility is intended to provide prompt guidance and facilitate quick loan approvals during this critical recovery period.
New General Insurance Scheme Provides Financial Security Against Disaster Losses
To offer long-term financial security against future natural calamities, the bank has also introduced a special General Insurance scheme. This coverage is specifically tailored for traders seeking protection against floods or waterlogging incidents. Under the terms of the policy, businesses can avail insurance coverage up to Rs 10 lakh on stock.The annual premium required for this crucial protective measure is set at just Rs 1,000 per trader. In the event of flooding or waterlogging, this policy guarantees complete financial protection against damage sustained by business property, warehouses, or inventory.
Government Commitment and Damage Assessment Survey Status
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi praised the resilience shown by the people of Surat during the heavy rainfall events. He emphasized that the State Government is committed to working alongside local social organizations to ensure a swift recovery back to normalcy for the city.The Deputy CM confirmed that the government had set a 72-hour target for completing the damage assessment survey. Currently, approximately 80 per cent of this vital work has been accomplished across the affected areas.
