
Air India, Air India Express Plan Additional Flights to Bring Back Stranded Passengers from West Asia
Air India and Air India Express are operating additional unscheduled flights on March 7 to bring back passengers stranded in West Asia following airspace closures in parts of the region.The airlines said the extra flights have been arranged to support travelers affected by disruptions caused by ongoing restrictions in regional airspace.
Extra Flights Scheduled from Key West Asia Cities
According to the airline’s statement, additional unscheduled flights have been planned to operate to and from Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Muscat, Ras Al-Khaimah, and Sharjah on March 7.These flights are aimed at bringing stranded passengers back to India after travel plans were disrupted due to the closure of certain airspace corridors in West Asia.
Air India Express alone is scheduled to operate 43 flights across the region on March 7.
Connectivity Between West Asia and Major Indian Cities
Together, Air India and Air India Express will connect several key West Asian cities with major destinations in India. The network for these operations includes Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Jeddah, Muscat, Ras Al-Khaimah, and Sharjah.The additional services are expected to help clear the backlog of passengers affected by the recent disruptions.
Airspace Closures Continue to Impact Flight Operations
The airline said that airspace closures in other parts of West Asia continue to affect flight operations.Airlines across the region are currently dealing with operational challenges as ongoing airspace restrictions have resulted in cancellations and route changes, affecting travel schedules and passenger movement.
