Sterlite Technologies Raises INR 1500 Cr Through Qualified Institutions Placement

Sterlite Technologies Ltd (STL), a leading optical connectivity solutions provider, has announced that it successfully raised INR 1,500 crore through a Qualified Institutions Placement (QIP). The funding injection follows robust participation from both domestic and global institutional investors.

The company allotted 2.57 crore equity shares to qualified institutional buyers in the placement. This successful fundraising reflects strong investor confidence in STL's 30-plus years of experience manufacturing high quality optical connectivity products through its vertically integrated "Glass to Terabit" capability. The demand for these solutions is growing globally, driven by digital infrastructure development across AI data centers, telecom operators, and large scale government programs.

The placement saw participation from prominent investors including Motilal Oswal, Nomura, HSBC, Bank of India, Oxbow, Think Investments, Bandhan, and Manulife.

Following the successful allotment, STL's financial structure has been bolstered. The company reported that its paid-up equity share capital has increased to INR 102.78 crore, which comprises a total of 51.39 crore equity shares.

The proceeds from the QIP are earmarked primarily for substantially de-leveraging the Company's balance sheet. This move will significantly enhance financial strength and establish a robust platform necessary to fund the next phase of STL’s growth journey.

Ankit Agarwal, Managing Director of STL, stated that the capital raise underscores the trust investors place in the company's vision and execution. He affirmed that the funds will be deployed to strengthen the balance sheet, pursue accelerated growth, and advance the mission of connecting billions of lives globally.
