Sportking India Limited has reported robust financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026, showcasing significant growth across key operational and profitability metrics. The textile conglomerate saw its EBITDA jump by 90.3% year-on-year (YoY), while Profit After Tax (PAT) surged by 122.8%.

The company reported a substantial increase in revenue from operations for Q1 FY27, reaching Rs. 703.7 Crs, marking a rise of 20.1% compared to the previous year. Gross Profit rose by 46.0% YoY to Rs. 228.0 Crs, attributed to improved realizations and enhanced spreads.

EBITDA for the quarter stood at Rs. 132.2 Crs, reflecting a remarkable 90.3% increase from Q1 FY26. The EBITDA margin expanded by 692.6 basis points (bps) on a yearly basis, reaching 18.8%. Furthermore, Profit Before Tax (PBT) registered growth of 119.9% YoY at Rs. 102.2 Crs, leading to PAT of Rs. 76.0 Crs, which represented a 122.8% increase over the same period last year.

Key operational highlights for Q1 FY27 include:
  • Total Production Volume reaching 20,120 MT.
  • Yarn Sales Volume standing at 20,492 MT, an improvement from the 20,327 MT recorded in Q1 FY26.

The performance underscores a strong operational turnaround. The company also provided updates on its strategic development initiatives. The execution of a 150,000-spindle greenfield expansion project in Odisha remains on schedule, with construction underway and the first phase of production anticipated to start during the third quarter of the current fiscal year. Moreover, the commercial operations of the solar power project were commissioned, which is expected to yield annual power cost savings ranging from 12% to 13%, thereby improving operational efficiency.

Commenting on the results, Munish Avasthi, Chairman and Managing Director, stated that the company reported a strong beginning to FY27. He highlighted that profitability more than doubled during the quarter, driven by improved realizations and healthy spreads, alongside disciplined execution.

Mr. Avasthi noted that while the textile industry operates in an evolving environment marked by geopolitical developments and trade dynamics, demand trends across key export markets remained stable, with Europe showing improving traction. The implementation of the India-UK Free Trade Agreement was highlighted as a significant positive expected to boost competitiveness. Looking ahead, he expressed optimism regarding demand prospects, noting that the upcoming festive season is anticipated to support consumption, coupled with improved sentiment in domestic and international markets. Furthermore, the government's temporary removal of import duty on cotton has reportedly improved stability in raw material markets for the textile value chain.
