
SpiceJet Inducts Three Airbus A320 Aircraft on Damp Lease for Network Expansion
SpiceJet has inducted three Airbus A320 aircraft into its fleet under damp lease arrangements, significantly boosting its operational capabilities as it prepares for increased passenger demand. The new arrivals are set to support the airline's network expansion and enhance connectivity across crucial domestic routes.All three aircraft have arrived in India and commercial operations are scheduled to commence later this week. The induction on a damp lease basis provides greater operational flexibility while ensuring cost efficiencies for the airline.
SpiceJet is also pursuing continued fleet augmentation, with management confirming advanced discussions are underway with other lessors to induct additional aircraft in the coming months.
Debojo Maharshi, Chief Business Officer at SpiceJet, stated that the induction of these three Airbus A320s is integral to their planned capacity expansion. He noted that as demand continues to rise, the aircraft will allow the airline to add more flights on existing routes, improve connectivity, and support the launch of new services. The airline emphasized its focus on building capacity ahead of the busy travel season, aiming to offer passengers a reliable experience and wider choice of destinations.
